One of the biggest problems that stands in the way of making the jump from a regular 9-5 to entrepreneurship is that you don’t have to. It’s much easier to get the grades and join a system that has already been built for you.
A lot of the time many of us dream about setting our own working hours, being our own boss, taking a lunch break when we choose but once again these are desirable but not a must.
“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.” – Helen Keller
As soon as an idea is gifted to our imagination the mental battle begins. One of the most destructive and restrictive aspects of our being is our inability to follow thorough with an idea without it proving itself first. We automatically demand that an idea reveals its full potential without actually giving it some belief and momentum in which to work with.
“Little potential, causes little action, little results which reinforces you belief and the cycle continues on itself until you are in a downwards spiral.” – Tony Robbins
“Maybe” in entrepreneurship is the route cause of procrastination and the destroyer of dreams. I have folders of unused ideas for businesses and film scripts on my computer that I never gave the chance to come to fruition because at that time I didn’t have the right belief system in place to at least try (which is something I’m still working on).
In entrepreneurship, if you start sceptical, you’ll never make anything happen. It’s up to you to train your belief system, encourage potential, take massive action and get the results you deserve. What’s the smallest first step you can take today? Start there. Build momentum. You must.
